About WHBC

- Care for one another in Christ
- Communicate Christ to our world
“The story of Walnut Hill Bible Church of Baraboo is a story of endurance and survival. It’s about a little church that has weathered many storms and, by God’s grace, continues its adventurous voyage. It’s a story that reaches back to March of 1845, in the days of the American settlement of the West, and it’s a story that presses onward into the many unknowns of the 21 st century.
The Lord has been so good and so gracious. After 175 years, our founding mission has survived. Forty-six pastors later and our mission has survived. Two denominational associations later and our mission has survived. Our gospel orientation has been preserved. Our dedication to biblical authority has never wavered. Our commitment to the atoning work of Jesus Christ is still our cornerstone. Our obedience before our risen Lord has steadied our mark. And our missionary zeal continues on. It’s a precious and rare thing for any Christian institution to look back nearly 200 years and see such continuity of vision and purpose.”

Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Church Center App
We use an amazing tool called Planning Center at Walnut Hill. This platform is where we organize our events, check-ins for children’s Sunday School and Nursery, giving, and much more. The “Login” menu item in our website’s main menu connects you to Planning Center and all that it has to offer. When you click there for the first time, you will have an opportunity to set up your WHBC Planning Center account. You don’t need to be a member of WHBC in order to take advantage of the benefits that being connected to the Planning Center can offer.
In addition, we highly recommend downloading the Church Center app to your mobile device. This app provides simple and quick access to the many features of the Planning Center. For example, you can check your kids in for Sunday School on the way to church and just scan a barcode to print their nametags and pick up labels! Download the Church Center App at the link below for your device and start streamlining your connection.
Membership
— Hebrews 10:23-25
We believe that membership in a local assembly of believers is a vital component of ongoing growth and discipleship for the believer. However, we do not actively push or recruit people to become members of Walnut Hill. We consider this as a deeply personal, spiritual question that individuals need to spend time working through with God.
There are certain aspects of service at Walnut Hill, such as teaching a Sunday School class, that do require membership in order to ensure and maintain a continuity of teaching and leadership. Membership also carries with it both the privilege and responsibility of being a part of the decision-making process relating to the operation and direction of the church. The governance of Walnut Hill Bible Church is constitutionally vested in the membership of the congregation.
When you become a member at Walnut Hill, you are seeking to join in a “covenantal” community, joining with other Christians for the sake of His mission and honor.
